In February 2007, eleven Higher Level Teaching Assistants from Devon LA visited Austria on an international study visit organised through TIPD (Teachers' International Development Programme). As far as is known, this is the first time such a visit has taken place which has been specifically designed for teaching assistants and reflects the high levels of responsibility now undertaken by such support staff in Devon schools.
